REFLECT CONNECT COLLABORATE INNOVATE BECOME

'Embers of the World' Founder

Debbie Nicol, founder of 'Embers of the World', has been described as an adventure seeker, risk-taker, reflector and free spirit.

At times though, her spirit was not always free, but rather covered in self-criticism, and housed in a place of limitation.

Abundance-mindset at times would give way to scarcity-mindset.  Self-assurance would give way to self-doubt.  In fact, she showed little difference in traits from many of us today!

Choices abounded for Debbie – she could remain static, or evolve 'beyond the current'. Once awareness grew for the need and consequences of change, desire soon followed!

Forever in awe of change, connectivity and the energy she receives from interaction with global cultures, Debbie identified opportunity to learn from each other through sharing, storytelling, reflecting and opening of minds.
Evidence of change surrounded her.

  • The corporate world of organizational cultures started to see the benefit of being strengthened when team members around the world collaborated on projects, and shared successes.
  • Varieties of perspectives were taking group learning exercises with other international players to additional levels
  • Greater connectivity resulted when learning forums were infused with personal stories
  • Reflections took their own paths, and lead minds and energies into previously unchartered territories

With a career commencing as a teacher, a natural progression evolved the career into a passion, delving into areas of international and corporate training, learning and development, elearning, human performance, engagement strategies, strategic change management and consultancy.  That passion is now a lifestyle for Debbie – one of reflection, opening minds and forging communities and trust.

This lifestyle is littered with hope – hope that one small part of the 'Embers of the World' initiative will open opportunities for individual, social, ethical and possibly even community positive change and self-healing.
